Preparing the Called to Minister With Understanding and Excellence

Are you feeling called to serve but aren’t sure where to start? New Day Beginning is thrilled to announce our Leadership Training Course, a four-session program designed to prepare and empower individuals for impactful leadership within the church. This dynamic, spiritually enriching course focuses on equipping you with a strong biblical foundation, a clear understanding of leadership roles, and the practical skills necessary to serve with excellence.

🗓️ Course Schedule

This course meets from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the following Saturdays:

• August 9, 2025
• August 23, 2025
• September 6, 2025
• September 20, 2025

Participants will also have a practicum experience on Sunday, September 21, 2025, where they’ll demonstrate their learning by teaching a 10-minute lesson and preaching a 10-minute sermon. This real-time opportunity provides invaluable feedback in a supportive environment.

📖 What You’ll Learn

Our comprehensive curriculum covers:

• Church Leadership Roles – responsibilities and spiritual significance of Deacons, Elders, and other roles.
• Biblical Foundations – exploring the connections between the Old and New Testaments
• Church History – tracing the development of the Christian Church and its impact on modern ministry.
• Doctrinal Essentials – understanding justification, regeneration, sanctification, and discipleship.
• Liturgical Symbolism – meaning and purpose of liturgical vestments.
• Ministerial Practices – how to conduct altar calls, communion, baptism, baby dedications, and funerals.

🎓 Course Materials & Amenities

Participants receive a printed PowerPoint presentation with space for note-taking, and lunch is provided during each class session.

• Auditors: $75
  Payment can be made in-person on the first day (August 9, 2025) or online (option coming soon). Space is limited to 25 participants, so early registration is encouraged.

Hosted by New Day Beginning, this powerful evening brings together music, poetry, theater, and community in celebration of creativity and purpose — all while raising funds to support adult students returning to college.

This year’s event will feature a dynamic lineup of performances, including the return of The Divas of Eastwood Singers, spoken word poetry, a live one-act play, special guest solo artists, and a Silent Auction with unique bidding experiences.

All proceeds benefit the Night of the Arts Scholarship, which helps adult learners re-enter higher education and pursue their academic and career goals.

About the Event

“A New Day Beginning Night of the Arts” is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of talent and a collective effort to build a better future. Under the theme “Building a Better Future,” this special night will feature performances from some of the most vibrant and soul-stirring artists in our community.

Performers Line-Up

• The Divas of Eastwood – A renowned vocal group known for their powerful and soulful performances, blending classic and contemporary styles to create a unique sound that captivates audiences.
• Zekalia Washington – A gospel singer celebrated for her inspirational voice and dynamic stage presence, Zekalia brings a deep sense of spirituality and passion to her performances, uplifting the spirits of her listeners.
• Thomasin Pickens – A comedian with a sharp wit and great sense of humor, Thomasin is also a published author and hosts a weekly radio broadcast, bringing laughter and joy to a wide audience.
• DevSoul – A dance ensemble known for their inventive choreography and energetic performances. DevSoul combines different dance styles to create visually stunning pieces that resonate with themes of empowerment and cultural heritage.
• Jess Mahogany – A spoken word artist who uses her platform to discuss complex themes through poetry. Jess’s performances are powerful, thought-provoking, and often leave a lasting impression on her audience.
• Shay Floet Love – (Sharon McClendon) A motivational spoken word artist with over 20 years of experience in writing poetry. Sharon uses her words to empower, enlighten, and encourage, making her performances both uplifting and transformative.
